BAGUIO CITY, PH – Five cadavers and two human skeletons were found from a 30-meter ravine in Tuba, Benguet, police officials reported last Tuesday.
Philippine News Agency (PNA) reported initially that a total of five bodies and a human skeleton were discovered in a ravine at Sitio Poyopoy, Taloy Sur, Marcos highway, according to initial information from Police Maj. James Acod, Tuba, Benguet chief of police. Bombo Radyo Baguio later reported that another skeleton was retrieved from the same site. A total of 5 bodies and 2 skeletons.
In PNA’s report, it was around 10:30 am when a resident who reported to the police about a foul smell in the area. Two police officers were dispatched to check and initially found two bodies. After a thorough search in the area, three more cadavers and two skeletons were found at the site.
Joint personnel from the municipal police, Bureau of Fire Protection and the private rescue group 911 on Call brought the bodies to the highway for inspection. Acod said one of the cadavers is a female while the four others are on a late stage of decomposition. These bodies are hypothesized to be two weeks old.
According to residents in the area, the said place has been known for years as a dumping area for victims of summary executions. (PNA, Bombo Radyo Baguio)
