MOSCOW, Russia – Dubbed as the ‘Harvard of Russia’, Moscow State Institute of International Relations University in Moscow conferred President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines an honorary doctorate degree last Saturday.
Moscow State Institute of International Relations University or MGIMO is an academic institution run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. Widely considered the most elite university in Russia, MGIMO was dubbed the “Harvard of Russia” by Henry Kissinger. This institution has been producing many of Russia’s political, economic, and intellectual elite.
This honorary doctorate from MGIMO is the first to be accepted by President Duterte as shunned similar accolades in the past.
