Governor puts Hennessy bottles in relief packages

Nairobi, Kenya – A governor’s heart for his people may have prompted him to include what he calls as ‘throat sanitizer’ in the care packages for constituents amidst the COVID-19 pandemic — Hennessy bottles.

“I think from the research conducted by the World Health Organization and various organizations, it has been believed that alcohol plays a major role in killing the coronavirus,” said Governor Mike Sonko of Nairobi justifying why he added alcohol as part of the care packages which troubled both recipients and experts.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), consuming alcohol does not really protect against Corona virus rather people should minimize or refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages.

The CEO of Amref Health Africa, Githinji Gitahi, in a post on Twitter condemned Sonko’s action. Gitahi urged Kenyans who received those packages to dump the alcohol.

What would you do if you have received one of Sonko’s care packages?
