Other Asians join force to express disgust over Chinese Embassy’s ‘Iisang Dagat’ music video

A music video entitled “Iisang Dagat” (海的那边)written by Chinese Ambassador H.E. Huang Xilian, performed by Chinese Diplomat Xia Wenxin from the Embassy, Chinese-Filipino singer Jhonvid Bangayan, Chinese actor Yubin, and notably Camarines Sur Vice Governor Imelda Papin, earned disgust from its Filipino viewers as well as netizens from other Asian neighboring countries based on comments and likes/dislikes after it was posted on Youtube.

This Youtube video was posted on April 24, 2020 along with the hashtag #CNPHHealAsOne. The music video expresses China’s solidarity and sympathy over the victims of COVID-19 pandemic which was reported to have originated from Wuhan, one of its larger cities. At the moment of this writing, among the 779,895 views, 203,000 disliked it and only 3,500 liked it.

A Korean, Wendy Jung said her comment ‘I AM HERE TO HIT THE DISLIKE BUTTON We support the Philippines ?? From South Korea ??’.

In another comment, Hsiao Long Liu wrote ‘Taiwanese are with you Philippine people! Don’t ever trust China!’.

Lennong Ng from Malaysia wrote ‘I’m Malaysian and here to support my Pinoy friends to DISLIKE this video. ASEAN bros: Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines,and Indonesia, let’s get united and kick China out of South China Sea!’. Another Malaysian, Eric Tang wrote ‘Malaysian come here to dislike too. ASEAN countries stand together to chase out the big bully.’ Other netizens from Vietnam, Thailand among other Asean countries also expressed similar sentiments over the posted video.
