Shaina Magdayao addresses death hoax

  • Actress Shaina Magdayao took to social media her comment on false rumors about her death.

  • Responding to the fake news, Shaina said that she was instead enthusiastically preparing for her upcoming 30th birthday

MANILA, Philippines—Actress Shaina Magdayao broke her social media hiatus after false news about her passing has gone viral online.

According to a website, Shaina was allegedly “dead on arrival” at the hospital due to her hyperthyroidism.

However, no legitimate news website has reported on her supposed passing.

She went on Instagram to post a few photos of herself and an enthusiastic caption about looking forward to her 30th birthday.

“Im baaaccckkk! Or should I say, I’m A L I I I I VE,” she wrote, poking fun at the fake news that she died.

“And oh so ready for SCORP SEASON and my 30th!!!” she added.

Facebook Claim Check has already flagged at least 51 different links related to the news which all come from seven unique domains.

These are: balitang247.pepetv.info, cnnworld.patrol-news.com, gmanews.balitng247tv.info, gmanewsnetwork.pepetv.info, manila.tv-patrol.com, phbalita.hetongbago.com, and thetrue.i-witnesstv.com.

Clicking the link will redirect you to a video clip that stops after a few seconds and asks you to share it on Facebook in order to continue watching.

It was also this month of October when Gary Valenciano’s son, Gab, was also a victim of fake news of his passing.

It was back in 2017 when Shaina first disclosed to the public about her hyperthyroidism sickness and that she was taking maintenance medicines. 

In June 2019, she made an Instagram post about finally feeling healthy.

“For the first time in years—I feel healthy. Not my healthiest just yet, I still wake up sluggish some mornings—but a whole lot lighter and better,” her post read. —When in Manila
