Baguio, PH – This night market vendor from Baguio City may not have millions in her bank account but her heart might be bigger than most of the wealthiest Filipino families.
Her name is Minda Delim who just received financial assistance of P5,500 ($110) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Her small livelihood was severely hit by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Right after receiving the cash allowance for her family, she handed out a precious gift, a set of reusable masks which could be used by her neighbors who could not afford or even buy masks due to lack of supply.
If that is not called love for others, I don’t know what is.
The cash assistance is part of the Emergency Subsidy and one of the government’s Social Amelioration Programs for those who were severely affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) set in place to combat the spread of Covid-19 virus.
